Swingers & Bite Indicators

A swinger is a weighted bite indicator that hangs between your rod and bite alarm. It moves up on a take and drops back on a slack line, giving visual confirmation of bites. Swingers are more sensitive than bobbins in calm conditions and work best on tight lines at short to medium range.

Swingers give clearer drop-back indication because they swing freely on an arm. Bobbins are simpler and cheaper but can stick on the line in cold or wet conditions. For night fishing, LED swingers show bites in the dark. Most serious carp anglers prefer swingers for their sensitivity and reliability.

Clip the swinger line clip to your main line between the reel and first rod ring. Adjust the weight so the arm hangs at roughly 45 degrees. Too heavy and you will miss gentle takes; too light and wind will cause false indications. Attach the chain or cord to your rear buzzer bar or bank stick.
